Many of our Eco Friendly Dog Beds contain a super-soft filling made partially from recycled plastic bottles. Some even use a similar material for the exterior fabric because surprisingly recycled plastic bottles can be used to make extraordinarily soft material such as polar fleece. It's interesting to note how many plastic bottles are kept out of landfills with each bed. The larger the bed, the more bottles are recycled.
For example, the Big Sky Pet Bed comes in four sizes and uses the following amounts of recycled plastic bottles:
small dog beds use 7.10 bottlesCedar chips, shavings or bits are inside many of PetFrenzy's pillow dog beds because cedar helps prevent flea and tick infestation, and is also a natural odor control. But keep in mind that even though it's uncommon, some people and also some dogs are allergic to Cedar Dog Beds. Always be sure to find out what is used for the filling in pillow dog beds before you buy one.
Medium dog beds use 13.70 bottles
large dog beds use 20.20 bottles
Extra large dog beds use 28.7 bottles
At this time PetFrenzy does not carry pillow-style heated dog beds. But if you are interested in Heated Dog Beds we carry quite a few of them in other styles, for indoors or outdoors. These are terrific if you live in a cold-weather climate and your dog will really appreciate it, especially if he or she is getting on in years. On the other hand, if you live in a climate with extremely warm temperatures, you may want to look at our Dog Cooling Beds. Again, we don't have dog cooling beds in a pillow-style bed, but if it's really hot outside any of these beds will quickly become a favorite.
Unless you take special measures, destructive chewers can ruin a dog bed in mere minutes with aggressive tearing, chewing and clawing. If your dog is known for destroying household items, pillow dog beds may not be for you. We suggest you look in our Raised Dog Beds section or Chew-Proof Dog Beds. Many of these beds are made with frames constructed of industrial-grade PVC tubing and super tough fabric. You may have heard them referred to as PVC dog beds. Some people confuse them with plastic dog beds which are not the same. Plastic dog beds are beds that are filled with material composed of recycled plastic bottles. No matter the name, these beds are practically indestructible. If you think there is even a possibility that your dog could destroy PVC plastic, we have a raised dog bed with a frame made from steel and still another with a frame made from aluminum.
Dogs with joint pain or arthritis will have an easier time with pillow dog beds because they won't need to step over side cushions or bolsters. If you have a senior dog or a dog that has been injured, one of our pillow dog beds would likely be a good choice.
Washing instructions are easy to find in the descriptions of all of our dog beds. Most PetFrenzy pillow dog beds for sale have a removable cover that you can put in the washer and the dryer.
