INSTALLATION
Fence Wire
The fence wire must make a continuous loop around your property for your system to operate. The signal is delivered from the terminal of the transmitter, through the fence wire, back to the other terminal on the transmitter. When this is accomplished, the wire continuity light will emit a constant red indicator.
Wire Placement
CAUTION - Before you install your fence wire, contact the utility company to mark the utilitylines on your property before you begin digging.
Carefully choose the areas in which you want to contain your dog. A diagram may helpful in predicting unforeseen obstacles.
The dogtra e-Fence system includes 500 feet of boundary wire and 50 training flags. Additional flags and wiring can be purchased through the Dogtra Company. See below for flag + wire buying guide.
Note: In August 2007, Dogtra has released the Gold Series, making improvements
to their e-Fence systems and receivers. The previous series required that stimulation
levels
be set at
the
wall-mount
transmitter
(if multiple dogs were contained, all would need to be at the same stimulation
level). Among other minor changes, the new Gold systems allow for
stimulation adjustment to occur at the collar/receiver so that if more than
one dog is
being contained, each can be set at the appropriate individual stimulation
level.
The new Gold Series receivers will not work with the previous e-Fence units
and the previous receivers will not work with the new fence units.
All new orders for the Dogtra e-Fence
will automatically receive the new Gold Series version.
