The Doormate System is a device that will automatically open and close your existing
sliding door as a pet approaches or if you activate the unit by a remote.
The Doormate unit
attaches to the floor near the back of the sliding door and to the
bottom corner of your slider. A screw-auger mechanism drives the slider to
open and
close. The unit is programmable with several different settings.
Unlike many other pet doors, there are no holes to
cut, and no doors or walls to deface*. It's sleek and compact style makes
it nearly invisible. The
addition
of the required Pet-Prox proximity sensor (optional with the purchase of your
Doormate system) to your pet's collar allows the patio door to slide open
automatically when your pet approaches from either side,
and then securely locks after they come in or go out.
*As the unit is mounted with two "L" brackets,
you WILL HAVE TO DRILL HOLES in the bottom corner of your sliding door and
into
the
floor
for installation. Therefore this product is not
recommended
for use on ceramic tile floors as
the motion may cause tiles
to crack and/or break.

Important Information:
- Under no circumstances should this product be used with cats
or pets under 50 lbs.
- Your sliding doors should be at least 6 ft. wide (measure the overall width
of both sliding and fixed doors)
- The Doormate unit opens doors to a maximum
of 32" wide
- The system will not work for 3 or more sliding panel doors (Must
be one stationary and one slider configuration)
- The sliding door must be interior of the fixed panel, as viewed from the
inside of the house
- If your sliding doors are RECESSED from the surface of your interior wall,
it may cause a problem or not work without wall modification.
If your door is recessed more than 6 inches it may be necessary to install
the doormate
through the sidewall.
- The Doormate has a stoppage sensor and
will back off if it encounters an obstruction; however, it DOES NOT have
an optical eye to back-up when something is in the way of the sliding door.
- When the Doormate is engaged, the door is locked when closed. Take a
remote if you go outside or disengage the unit.
