- Rise is the height of the bottom of the pet door above the ground. The height that your pet must step over to use the pet door. We suggest that 'flap height' plus 'rise' should about equal pet shoulder height.
- To determine the correct size opening for your pet, measure the widest point of your pets shoulder to determine the width of the opening, then measure from the top of your pets back (just behind the head) to the bottom of the chest to determine the height of the opening needed. Once your pet is measured and you have a width and height of the pet opening your pet will need, you can now determine the type of pet door that will suit you.
